I hear you on the Franti front. I first saw him many years ago, on his first trip to Australia with Spearhead. The gig was mindblowing. A funky party vibe which infected everyone. Since then i went to about 6 or 7 shows but i've stopped going lately. While i sympathise with the politics it all comes across rather self righteous and unneccesary since he's essentially preaching to the converted.

Franti's bands increasing love of screaming guitar solos and rock posturing are thoughrely depressing, given how amazing his live performance once was. Still mostly good though..its not all hands in the air, geetar.

All the Carling venues are camera fascists, so I dont bother trying to bring one (need to get a decent smaller camera). Tried contacting Franti's management to no reply, I belive they were to busy "waving their hands in the air" to answer their email ;)

I actually caught some of Franti at Summer Sundae, though I must have walked in right on one of his full-on 'rock' numbers. There was only so many 'put yours hands in the airs' I could take and left for Plaid's minimal techno. Well, sounds like there's more to Franti than the screaming guitar solos and rock posturing so thanks for redressing the balance somewhat.

I see none of the usual high quality MLD photos. I take it Brixton Academy were camera fascists.
