I’m ancient enough to have loved Ninjatune – the label born out of Coldcut’s mauling by major labels – since the days when their logo looked like this (20% of nothing is still 20% they used to say). Few labels can have kept up such an unbelievable high quality and diversity of music for so long as Ol’ Mama Ninja.

Of late they seem to be sending out selected tracks and remixes and saying blog at will, and who am I to argue when the music’s as good as Ninja always deliver. Maybe it’s the life of a modern label… a certain percentage of the music acts as publicity for other money making activities, live shows, t-shirts, Dvd’s… even trendy jeans bearing the famous Ninja eyes.

The latest massive missive from Ninja HQ brings a double remix whammy of the ever wonderful Daedelus courtesy of The Death Set and Mumdance & High Rankin.

Daedelus – For Withered Friends (Mumdance & High Rankin mix)” (MP3)
Daedelus – Fair Weather Friends (The Death Set Reset)” (MP3)
and a bonus Flying Lotus
The Long Lost – “Woebegone (Flying Lotus’ Luckiest Charm mix)” (MP3)

OTHER EMAILED DELIGHTS

The Dead Trees – Shelter” (MP3)
Windsurf – Pocket Check” (MP3)
James Yuill – This Sweet Love (Prins Thomas Sneaky Edit)” (MP3)
