I really enjoy reading your blog and I just wanted to introduce you to Maylee Todd as I think you will love her. She has taken Canada by storm and now it is the turn of the UK. Her live shows are bursting with flamboyant energy and the sound of bossa and funk meets indie, Maylee and her band Pegwee Power are ready to turn the UK into fans. With the voice of an angel, exciting instrumentals (paraguayan harp anyone?) peppering her sparky pop tunes it won’t be hard.

A collaborator with the national film board of Canada, Maylee’s drama and comedy background is evident in her quirky charisma. Debut single ‘Summer Sounds’ was snapped up by Giles Peterson (Radio 1) and second single ‘Aerobics in Space’ was an instant video hit.

Maylee is a really exciting artist please take a look at the videos and have a listen, I am eager to hear what you think.

Very pleased to say hello. Just looking through your website and googling for images for a little research to find images of Gil Scott Heron for a design project here in the UK. It would be great to hear from you, sourcing good pictures with potential costs, for a 500 limited edition vinyl. If you could email me with a link or some low rez images that would be really appreciated. Gives us something to talk about here.
I do look forward to hearing from you.

I am a representative of SONS Records, an independent record label based in Stoke-on-Trent and I am writing to alert you to some upcoming releases that I believe will be of genuine interest to you and hope that you may find some time to write about.

In the next few weeks we will be helping the Stoke based band, The Novellos, rerelease their single ‘The Lady Is Not For Turning’ on vinyl, followed sharply by new material in the form of the single, ‘All You Need’.

‘The Lady Is Not For Turning’ first reared its striking head in 2008, pushing the band to the No.3 spot of the Indie Charts thanks to support and radio play from Steve Lamacq which included a session at the Maida Vale studios for his ‘In New Music We Trust’ programme later that year. With near future collaborations between SONS records and Lamacq – and also his BBC colleague Chris Hawkins – it seems that The Novellos will get the vital air play desired to push their new releases.
(For a full band biography please go to http://thenovellos.co.uk/)

I was hoping you would be able to find the time to listen, and to possibly help promote a young British band on a truly independent British label.
This is the SoundCloud link for the single the ‘Lady Is Not For Turning’ – http://soundcloud.com/sonsrecords/the-novellos-the-lady-is-not-for-turning – but please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any further MP3s, photographs or information.

The reason I am writing you is because you are one of the most respected music blogs in all of the UK. I hail from the States but the trick is that my music is becoming the rave in the UK. I have almost 200,000 hits on my youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hp324BQuhl0 “The Devil Song” and 50,000 on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iORGMmF5k6M on my song “Kamilla” 90% of the hits are coming from the UK and Ireland. I have even enjoyed radio play in the UK and am getting ready to tour the UK in the summer. It has been quite shocking, I am doing very well here in the USA on my tour but I never expected such a warm welcome from the British people. I receive fan emails everyday, it really makes me feel great to read them. I was hoping you would take a look at my music and give it a review, after all you are one of the best. Here is a link to my reverbnation page as well (like bandcamp but better) http://www.reverbnation.com/cockdouglas. Thank You for your time and consideration enjoy the Queens Diamond Jubilee!

    Music Like Dirt,

Hi, my name is Vinny Zerbo. The name of the band is South Banks and we play Alternative Hip Hop Fusion music. We genuinely love what we make and want to spread it everywhere we can. We truly believe our music would be a perfect fit into your blog. Check our entire Fit For A King EP out here at our bandcamp –> http://south-banks.bandcamp.com/. It is currently up for free download/streaming. We also have a brand new music video out for our single Superwoman (Right Time) here –> http://www.youtube.com/southbanksmedia.

Here is our band bio –> South Banks is a band hailing from both coasts, NJ/Cali, bringing you a fusion of Hip Hop & Soul music that is also extremely hard hitting. The intensity and energy these guys bring are a force to be reckoned with and they have definitely coined a new sound/genre of music (Alternative Hip Hop/Fusion). As for who they sound like, they like to say that if Kanye West, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, & Rage Against the Machine had a kid, that it would be them. Not much more is to be said of these guys besides LISTEN and love!

Thank you for your time and enjoy the music,

Below I’m sending you my bands bio, a link of a site where you can stream our songs for free,a link from our Facebook fan page, a HD music video of us and 1 Hi-Res. artistic picture in of us.

    The Bands Bio
SIZ is a quite new band from Kumanovo composed of Ivica Dimitrijevic (guitar and vocals) and Filip Stanchevski (drummer).

SIZ’s music is inspired from various music styles and various performers, and simply can not be attributed in one musical genre. Tough, If it is really needed to be categorized, the musical genre they are playing will be characterized as Avant-garage or perhaps neo-bopism.
They have recorded one album “ Responsibility” released in august 2012
and have already left one European behind them.

Here’s a brand new music video for the song “Smurf”, a bonus track off of the new album, Stunt Rhythms, by Amon Tobin’s side project Two Fingers. The video stars Atlanta’s own Brefontaine, who is featured on the track. It’s essentially a 70’s grindhouse sci-fi adventure that was shot all around Atlanta, but primarily at The Goat Farm (the alleyway). We wanted to give the video a more cinematic look, so we shot with an anamorphic widescreen lens attached to the GH2. It was produced by Bright Elephant Films (http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLk9QPso2ovRIv3kCvxFa2T9uBALsvg7KK), and I hope you like it.

You can stream the track/album on Spotify (http://open.spotify.com/track/2ek5UrBZNS5nBYolOp3GvT), or buy the mp3/album on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0092PQVHU/ref=dm_dp_trk20?ie=UTF8&qid=1351546256&sr=8-1) or iTunes (https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/stunt-rhythms-bonus-track/id567112530). You can check out more of Brefontaine’s work at his soundcloud page (http://soundcloud.com/brefontaine).

    Dear M.L.D.,
‘Romeo Rorschach’ is the first single released from our upcoming third studio album AggroPastels and one of the shiniest pop moments on the new collection; the album is due mid-June.
The chorus vocals are handled by our special guest star, Chanticleer Tru, the lead singer of the new Portland indie-soul upstarts Magic Mouth (the 2012 U.S. tour openers for The Gossip). We’re happy to have his beautiful voice gracing our song.
The EP contains a single edit version, a storming electro remix from Assassins and 5 remixes in all from Pete Ellison, representing the full late ‘80s/early ‘90s era of deep NYC house music and 12” single culture.
The 7-track EP is a FREE download from both our Bandcamp: http://microfilm.bandcamp.com/album/romeo-rorschach-featuring-chanticleer-tru-ep and Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/microfilmmusic sites.
We hope you enjoy it and can post about the EP on your site or social media outlets; thanks!

Hey guys, I’ll keep this short as I know your inundated. I’m releasing a music video for a song of mine called “The Busker and Me” tomorrow (link below). I’m a 25 year old songwriter from Scotland and used to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, where I was lucky enough to have John Mayer play on one of my songs (link also below). This busker and me video is my first online release in a while and I know you guys love your music so I wanted to let you hear it and if you enjoyed it maybe you would be able to feature it on your blog? It’s a very happy tune, with the video being a fairytale cartoon, maybe marketed more towards girls but hopefully everyone will like the song. At the least I’d love to hear a little bit of feedback and any advice or critique would be greatly appreciated. Good luck with your continued success and I hope to hear back from you soon. If you’re interested in featuring it I can send you the proper youtube link tomorrow. Many thanks,

Are you a fan of 80’s dance music? Remember the hit song ‘Come Into My Life’ by Joyce Sims? Well then, you’re in for a treat, because Joyce is back!
She has recently been recording material in the UK with Livingston Brown, Maxi Priest, Errol Reid (China Black), Matt Jam Lemont and Brian keys, Jay Picasso and MA. The promotional reel has received great feed-back from radio partners about her brand new single ‘Tonight’.

‘Tonight’ channels that popular disco groove that epitomizes 80’s funk and is extremely catchy. It is getting great regional support from the regional BBC outlets, regional community stations and many online music blogs. During her stay in May, Joyce Sims was interviewed by Mi-Soul, Colorful Fm, Kemet FM, BBC Nottingham, BBC Manchester, Peace FM, Tropical FM, Kane FM, Vox Africa (85.2 million viewers in Africa, Europe and the UK) and more, all of which are supporting the new single.

If you would like to do a feature on your music blog regarding Joyce’s comeback, please do not hesitate to contact me!
I have provided a link to her new lyrics video below
